How do you choose who to hire for your inspection?

Think about your needs and what you wish to gain from an inspection. Do you want a home that is safe for your family? Do you want one that is structurally sound? Do you want to know what expensive repairs may be lurking? Or are you just getting an inspection because your agent told you to? What’s more important, price, or quality service.

Before you choose, ask the inspector:

  • What are his qualifications (did he read a book or does he have hands on knowledge of how a home works?)
  • Is he licensed and insured? (required in AZ)
  • Does he have the right tools to inspect, or will he just look around?
  • What type of report does he produce?
