The HVAC system is one of the most important components of your home and when you are buying a home it’s always top of the list for concerns. Proper installation and maintenance play an important part in whether the system will last five years or twenty years. Many time we find simple errors that will cause a unit to self destruct. Drain line problems will lead to overflowing and coils rusting out. I see the lines eventually get serviced, but still not correct the things that are wrong. I see homeowners ignore the overflowing rusty water, or worse yet, extend the pipe down to prevent staining.
